IF Homage

This is a comic I've wanted to draw for a while, so I was quite happy to see Illustration Friday's theme this week .... a gravestone is an homage!



Edit: After reading the comments, I thought I would post the first draft of this comic. I was attempting a "New Yorker" style cartoon, which I think is more obvious in the draft -- whereas the comments are correct, my "Final" comic above is much more "Far Side-ish" -- both comparisons are fine by me!

IF Multiple

I was cleaning my system last week and found this unfinished piece for Illustration Friday's Multiple theme from a number of weeks ago. So I finished it last night and thought I would post it even if the IF Multiple week has long passed. This version is a digital painting created in Painter, however I have a number of these circle drawings on paper. I suppose they could be considered a kind of automatism art. Usually when I'm doodling I end up with lots of circles on the page.

IF Pet Peeves

These IF images rarely turn out the way I think they will, but I guess that's ok. One of my pet peeves is when dogs run up and jump on me in the park... it makes me particularly crazy on muddy days.. anyway somehow that idea morphed into another pet peeve of mine, poodles wearing rabbit ears and carrying Easter baskets full of eggs. That said, if a dog wearing rabbit ears turns up at my place on Sunday morning with chocolate eggs, I probably won't be too upset (especially if they're dark chocolate eggs). Happy chocolate day.

It's Rabbit Season

well, chocolate rabbit season that is. Here's a little guy I created a few years ago for the annual card I send out. It seems appropriate since it is chocolate rabbit season and it is still snowing here.

IF Heavy

Ironically this could have worked for last week's theme of garden, but here it is for heavy ...

IF Garden

This was not the direction I expected this to take, but I am quite happy with the result. It's still snowing here and this is what a Spring garden will like in a couple of months.
