This is a comic I've wanted to draw for a while, so I was quite happy to see Illustration Friday's theme this week .... a gravestone is an homage!
Edit: After reading the comments, I thought I would post the first draft of this comic. I was attempting a "New Yorker" style cartoon, which I think is more obvious in the draft -- whereas the comments are correct, my "Final" comic above is much more "Far Side-ish" -- both comparisons are fine by me!

Great idea for a comic. Very Farside esque. I personally have no problems with tulips; daisy's, that is another issue all together.
Fun! Thanks for your comments on my IF illustration, btw. Looking back over your IF submissions, I see several that I didn't even attempt to do. I need to get on the ball! Like you, I'm balancing a variety of other loves: music, guitar, writing, etc. Art has finally worked its way back into the schedule...slowly :)
Man... I can't believe that guy had such a problem with tulips. They seem so unoffensive.
I agree with Josh, very reminiscent of The Far Side, in the best way possible. An accidental homage, perhaps? Nice work!
Very funny! I agree with Josh and Chris - this feels very Far Side-y, which is a good thing. Nice colors and fine drawing. Good work!
Hey guys! thanks for the comments -- I wasn't really attempting a Far-Side thing, but I can see what you mean -- especially when I compare it to my first draft, which is closer to what I wanted. Sometimes I can overwork things -- but in this case, they both turned out ok ...
Funny and nice work.
Grave stones are a good choice for the topic, British comedian Spike Milligan - who died in 2002 - asked for the following to be written on his grave stone;
"I told you I was ill"
(And it has been!)
Those are great!
I like your clean lines. The image is great! Love it! Graveyards are great settings. Very evocative.
Funny! Wicked lady; "you said I could...".
So lovely blog full of interesting pictures and ideas! Thanks for sharing!
